Wildflower bouquet Amaranth Florist Philaaelphia Horticulture Center FloristThis stunning flower bouquet with a sophisticated wildflower feel was the perfect look for Megan and Josh’s wedding at the Philadelphia Horticulture Center.

The color scheme was worked out perfectly by the bride with a choice of sunny yellow bridesmaids dresses, aqua shoes and bright yellow, blue and pink bouquet accents. The bouquet includes just a touch of pink roses and was then wrapped with a burlap tie to continue the sophisticated wildflower look.

Gorgeous Mock- Up Bridal Bouquet

mock up bridal bouquet by Amaranth Florist

Now, generally pinks aren’t really my favorite shades (I skew much more towards jewel tones or dark, fall things) but I LOVE this bouquet that I got to mock up for a bride this afternoon. So much so that I just had to share!

This wedding bouquet has light pink Anna roses, lavender dianthus, pink larkspur, delphinium, dusty miller, pale peach carnations, ENORMOUS peach ranunculus (I wish I knew which variety, these are gorgeous!), seeded eucalyptus, and a large pink-tinted echeveria succulent.

Contact Amaranth Florist, Narbeth, PA for a wedding flower consultation and we will create a special mock-up bridal bouquet for you!

Merion Tribute House Wedding Flowers

Red rose bouquets Merion Tribute House Weddingmerion tribute house arrangement wedding reception flowers, Amaranth Florist, Narberth, PAThis week’s featured wedding is Addie and Loukas’ from October. Their ceremony and reception were both at the Merion Tribute House in Lower Merion, Pa. The Tribute House is one of our favorite venues for weddings; from it’s history and architecture to it’s recently remodeled landscaping, it’s an all-over beautiful place. Addie’s wedding was no exception, and her flower choices were perfect. Burgundy calla lilies, red roses, and two varieties of red dahlias created a dramatic and striking bridal bouquet:

June 2015 at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pa

Julia and Sam at the beginning of June at the Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pa.
All of the details and touches Julia chose for the wedding flowers went perfectly together and worked so well at the Old Mill, Rose Valley, PA. Her wedding bouquet was a mix of yellow, blue, lavender and pale pink garden flowers arranged in a more natural style that is a specialty of Amaranth Florist. Some of the flowers used were delphinium, craspedia, lavender and pink stock, blush peonies, blue irises, pink larkspur, thistle, yellow zinnias, cornflower and ladies mantle. Her bridesmaids had similar bouquets with more vibrant colors, such as fuschia peonies, pink calla lilies, solidago, yarrow, green hydrangea, purple stock, cornflower, thistle, and craspedia.

The wedding centerpieces were a natural style in wooden boxes Julia provided. Most of the flowers used, such as the queen anne’s lace and dusty miller, had drape to them to give the centerpieces a flowing, window-box look. The other flowers used were gerbera daisies in various shades, fuschia stock, pink snapdragons, cornflower, thistle, irises, larkspur, and peonies. None of the centerpieces were exactly the same so they were very fun to design!

Additionally, special shout out to that cake. Oh man that cake. That is the most delicious-looking cake I have seen in a while, and I’ve seen lots of them! The style is perfect for the location, and those sliced figs and mixed berries? Yes please! Now, who wants cake?

Old Mill Pink and White Rose Bouquet

Ah, another Old Mill wedding in the Rose Valley, PA. It’s really the perfect venue for pretty much any wedding, but works especially well with rustic ones. Michelle and Bryan were married last August, and their wedding fit the Old Mill so well. They had some inclement weather forcing their ceremony inside, but you’d never know it was raining from the photos!

Michelle’s bouquets were beautiful. Some of my favorites that I’ve done to date, actually. Her bouquet had lots of coral spray roses, white lisianthus, white dahlias, white spray roses, green hypericum berries, mini green succulents, dusty miller, and hanging amaranthus (our namesake!) . As you may have gathered from previous posts, I’m a sucker for texture and this certainly had it! Michelle’s maids had more color to them with deep pink and coral spray roses, peach stock, peach berries, and dusty green succulents. Their bouquets really complimented their coral dresses wonderfully.

For the centerpieces, Michelle had gathered and decorated lots of assorted bottles to be filled with flowers in her color scheme. The tables had beds of green moss as well as vintage books to compliment the assortment of bottles. It looked really great! This is the second wedding I’ve done with books as accents, and I really love it.

Head on over to our Facebook page for some more photos from Michelle and Bryan’s wedding, as well as many others!

The Please Touch Museum, March 2013

Another blast from the past! Suzanne and Kirk were married a while ago now in March of 2013 at the Please Touch Museum. I cannot stress enough how much fun the Please Touch is for a wedding venue! Suzanne managed to get it during their Alice in Wonderland exhibit which was fantastic. There are so many spots for some really unique photos and a carousel to ride (and have your ceremony in front of!).

Suzanne’s flowers were all about color, texture, and uniqueness. For her and her maids, Suzanne had gathered tons of broaches to have made into bouquets. The variety of textures, colors, and styles really worked together for a very eclectic look. The boutonnieres were bright orange freesia with seeded eucalyptus for texture and bright blue ribbon around the stems.

The centerpieces matched the boutonnieres in shades of orange and bright blue. Rather than the standard green leaf lining the glass vase, we used blue ribbon (again matching with the boutonnieres) to bring even more color to the centerpieces. The centerpiece flowers were orange gerbera daisies, blue irises, orange pincushion protea (texture!), orange cymbidium orchids, orange lilies, Santana roses (one of my favorites) and blue agapanthus.

This wedding was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed doing something a little different for the bouquets, hopefully this trend continues!

Pomme Restaurant, April 2014

Megan and Erik were married almost a year ago at Pomme Restaurant in Radnor, Pa. Her flowers were simple and had a rustic, garden-like feel to them which fit quite well with the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Her bouquet was all soft colors with white hydrangea, peach spray roses, cream garden roses with pale yellow centers, pale pink peonies, and white ranunculus. Megan’s bridesmaids had simple bouquets of all white hydrangea with the stems wrapped in twine.

For her centerpieces, Megan wanted multiple smaller arrangements rather than one large arrangement, which I think looks great on those long tables. Each one was a little different. Some had just hydrangea, some had just roses, and some had a mixture of the two, but all of them were in terra cotta pots and accompanied by a few votives in mercury glass.

As always, head on over to our facebook page for more weddings!
